Growing Auchmuty is a community gardening project aimed at improving people’s health and wellbeing. We’re by the community and for the Auchmuty community. We’re currently developing a new garden at the bottom of Bruce road. Our team of volunteers are working hard to create a space that feels peaceful and welcoming to all who visit. Current plans include an area to encourage wild life, raised beds for flowers and veg. We’re also developing a sensory style garden and creating seating to enjoy it. Additionally we are working with the Glenrothes men’s shedto erect a polly tunnel in their compound. This polly tunnel will be 40ft long giving ample space to bring on seedlings in early spring.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team. Gardening experience is not necessary and we will provide you with the equipment to take part. We have sessions running on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but hope to expand this soon. It’s a great way to meet new people in the community in a safe and friendly environment. Our volunteers are fantastic, welcoming and fun to be around. Even if you’d like to pop down for a chat and a cup of tea you are more than welcome.
The project is based at the community flat – 107 Alexander road. Why not pop in and say hello?
